Fondren resident since moving from Belhaven in 2003. Jackson resident since 1996.
Cory’s mom is a retired public school teacher, and his dad is employed at Northrup Grumman shipyard. Cory’s stepfather is a retired police chief.
Stephanie’s dad is a banker of fifty years, and her mom is a homemaker and community volunteer who loves spending time playing with Webb Wilson.
Cory Wilson’s Education:
Valedictorian, Moss Point High School Class of 1988.
Student Body President.
Economics Degree from Ole Miss (emphasis in Public Administration), May 1992. Served as Student Body Attorney General and selected for the Ole Miss Hall of Fame.
Law Degree from Yale Law School, June 1995.
Cory Wilson’s Career:
White House Fellow at the Pentagon in Washington, 2005-06.
Only twelve Fellows chosen, nationwide, for the nonpartisan honor. While at the Pentagon, Cory learned about leadership, policy, and public service at the highest levels of government.
Law practice in Jackson since 1996 in the area of business and commercial defense litigation.
Stephanie Wilson’s Career:
Stephanie Wilson is first and foremost a stay-at-home mom.
A licensed marriage and family therapist, she also works part-time with an adult partial hospitalization program as a marketing consultant.
Active member of the Mississippi Counseling Association, in which she serves as a Past President.
Cory Wilson’s Commitment to Community:
Cory and Stephanie met while they were members of the Mississippi Economic Council’s
Leadership Mississippi 2000-01 Class. Their team project was selected as a Mississippi Community and Leadership Association Projects of Excellence Finalist in 2003.
Active in the Fondren neighborhood and serves on the Anti-Crime Advisory Committee of the OurFondren community organization.
Served as President of the Belhaven Improvement Association. Board of Directors, 1999-2002. Led the effort to start the Greater Belhaven Neighborhood Foundation in 2000.
President of the Downtown Jackson Exchange Club. Member of Exchange, which promotes civic education and child abuse prevention, since 1996.
Boards of Directors of the Mississippi Economic Forum, MEC’s Public Education Forum, and the Mississippi Society for Disabilities. Past service on the Boards of Jackson 2000 and the SafeCity Initiative.
Active supporter of the Mississippi Museum of Art, the Mississippi Museum of Natural Science, the Mississippi Heritage Trust, the Jackson Zoo, and other community organizations.
